Slack World

This modification does two things:

1. Disables the magazine interlock safety, so that a magazine is not require to change between SAFE and FIRE.
2. Disables magazine retainer thingy that drags against the magazine when inserting and removing the magazine.

This modification if done carefully is easily reversible. When the safety is on SAFE, the trigger block and hammer safety functionality will still work as before. The magazine retainer thingy is actually the Safety Block that serves both of the above functions and will not be altered.

1 – Getting startedTools: Screwdriver Parts: 3/16″ x 3/16″ x 1/16″ shim. I used a piece cut off of a zip tie. Start by disassembling your HP22A
	2 – Remove screws from side of grip
3 – Remove the grip/side cover
	4 – Remove safety by lifting up and insert a magazine.
5 – Place your shim above the safety block as shown.
	6 – Push the shim under the safety block using a screwdriver or zip tie.Note: Do not push past the bump on the safety block and avoid bending the safety block outward.
7 – Prepare to catch the magazine and then push the magazine release. If the magazine drops freely then you have successfully disabled the magazine retainer thingy. If it did not drop free easily, then your shim may not be thick enough.
	8 – Insert the safety. You may need to push the spring, as shown, to allow the safety to fit.
9 – Slide the safety down. If it does not slide, then your shim may not be thick enough.
	10 – Replace the grip/side cover and screws.
11 – Reassemble your HP22a.
	12 – Move the safety to SAFE and press the magazine release. The magazine should drop free.
13 – Slide the safety to FIRE. If it works you are DONE!
